The Suit That Fits

1. The shoulder pads end on shoulders.

2. Flat hand should slip effortlessly into the suit beneath the lapels when the top (or middle) button is closed. The suit should pull at the button once you place a fist in.

3. The top button of a two-button suit - or the middle button of a three-button suit - should not drop below the navel.

4. With the arms on the sides, the knuckles should be even with the jacket’s bottom.

5. Jacket sleeves should fall where the base of the thumb meets the wrist.

6. Between a quarter and a half inch of shirt cuff should be evident.

7. An inch of break.

No one patches an old cloak with a piece of unshrunken cloth, for its fullness pulls away from the cloak and the tear gets worse.” (Matthew 9:16)
